RESTORED TOWPATH AFTER HURRICANES & FLOODS, PENNSYLVANIA SIDE
Mostly a photo essay on the priceless fruits of preservation and restoration….of restaurants and venerable stores, of towns, of islands, of the historic towpath, of our River of Liberation itself.
Awesome post, Carolyn.
I am always honored by your attention to NJWILDBEAUTY, Ray. Thanks for letting me know that some of the magic of these recent riverine excursions translates to those who were not (unfortunately!) there with me at the time. Blessings, c
Having just spent 3 1/2 hours going down a three mile crystal clear stretch of the Delaware River at Shawnee, I beg to differ. Whether sitting on a tube and watching the rocks and grasses pass by on the river bed, or getting out of a tube and walking in the water or swimming, I think that tubing beats a simple swim in one spot! I enjoyed the photos.
Deb, I always honor your responses, especially (but not limited to) nature.
I may have been a little flip in that caption. When I’ve tubed the Delaware, upriver from Point Pleasant, Pennsylvania, it has often been a crowded experience. I admit to an excessive need for solitude.
What charmed me about the man with his bicycle was that he had the river all to himself. Even the picture seemed to glow with his contentment and delight.
Thanks for commenting, and I envy you the adventure of tubing from Shawnee. c
